Power = Books

I believe in the power of books. Books can give kids the different viewpoints and opportunity to learn about different people. I want teachers to use books as a way to teach kids understanding. There are so many books it hard to know were to start. This week I found a book that was pretty good. Because of Anya by Margaret Peterson Haddix check it out.

Things I learned this week

1. I can’t tie my shoes with both hands while cradling the phone with my shoulder and head. The result is that I punched myself so hard in the eye that my glasses fell off.

2. I can not walk and talk on the phone. I almost died like 10 times while trying to go 2feet.

3. My sunglasses fit so will over my glasses that I can were both with no one knowing.

Lone Bean No More

Earlier this week I meet another student with CP. Its nice to have someone that can really relate to me. Her CP affects her in completely different ways but its still nice. There is no CP Culture like there is the Deaf Culture. Its hard to meet other people because each person is more different than alike.
This is why finding another person that’s generally nice and willing to talk about boys and school and regular stuff is nice. There is a quite understanding between us and that makes all the difference.

Help!!!!!!!

Its official I need help. I’m being screwed by my local BVR (Vocational Rehabilitation). Many BVR are great and first rate but mine is not. They were the people that told me I can’t get a job in the education field. SO I made a call and I meet with my new student advocate today.

Great Day….

You know its going to be a great day when your favorite song is playing on the radio. You know its going to be a great day when your hair looks great and does what you want for once. You know its going to be a great day when you fall on your face walking to the closet. Seriously that’s my life. Good stuff with a hint of CP sprinkled in. Life is a funny, crazy, wonderful ride that leaves you with rug-burn. Falling aside to day is shaping up to be good. After the other weeks dismal meeting things are good. I had dinner with twin sister who is living 3 blocks away (farthest we have been apart for an extended time). Its nice having time to talk about school stuff. We usually do so much together that last year we had little to talk about.

Its funny our whole lives we have been trying to separate ourselves from one another and its only taking 21 years. Twin and I have a relationship like any other twins I have meet. Twin and I fought all the time when we were younger. She never did mean things like take something from me and runaway from me know I could not chase her down. It was the little things like sharing toys or wanted to win at a board game. I can’t explain the Twin Thing, its us and most people don’t understand or get it, unless they have twins or are a twin.
